Suri is the second-most prolific alpaca breed, after Huacaya. Only about 10% of all alpaca are Suri. Their fur is beautifully lustrous and composed of separate fibers which lay flat in every direction, in contrast to Huacaya fur, which is fluffy and cloud-like. Suri is softer than Huacaya and is always sold in solid or naturally spotted colors.

Suri can be used as a bedspread or rug. Rugs made from this beautiful fur can be effectively used on hard surfaces or even atop other rugs or carpeting.
